Sorry for the lack of content today - renegade, full-time bloglord-free Liberty Ballers is running out of steam, though we’re hoping to be fully operational soon. Be on the lookout for that! In the meantime, here’s a thread to watch the game, which you can now do legally (!) in Philadelphia due to the combined efforts of the organization and NBC Sports Philadelphia and many, many fans through copious inquiry of NBA league pass personnel and others. For those unaware: this game was only added to the television lineup TODAY.
Which is to say: thanks to everyone for making the Ben Simmons/Joel Embiid premiere happen for our eyes to see! Our concerns were heard and now we get to see what this year is all about.
Lineups
Philadelphia: Ben Simmons, Jerryd Bayless, J.J. Redick, Robert Covington, Joel Embiid
Brooklyn: Jeremy Lin, D’Angelo Russell, DeMarre Carroll, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Timofey Mozgov
Officials
Kane Fitzgerald, Matt Boland, Haywoode Workman
Three Things to Know
- You CAN watch this game! Ben Simmons! Joel Embiid! We’re a Markelle Fultz away from the future being upon us in full!
- The Nets, despite people claiming otherwise, are still a very bad team. With Embiid and everyone of note but Fultz and Richaun Holmes in action, the Sixers should show some signs of life and bag a preseason win.
- This is the closest the Sixers will probably be to a full rotation for a preseason game. With that being said, lineup combinations with the starters should be watched for. Especially at the backup wing spots, it’ll be interesting who of Nik Stauskas, Justin Anderson, Furkan Korkmaz, or Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot receives the most minutes. I would venture on guessing TLC. And in that regard, is T.J. McConnell even in the rotation? He didn’t play until the fourth quarter of the last game, though he should see time in place of Fultz.
