Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid Among Early Favorites For NBA Rookie of the Year Award

The odds will likely swing dramatically throughout the summer, but NBA Rookie of the Year bets are flowing in, and the Sixers are fortunate to have the leader of the pack on their roster. Ben Simmons currently stands alone as the favorite for the award, listed at +325 according to Bovada.

It should come as no surprise that the draft's top prospect would open as the favorite to win the award, and the Sixers present a tremendous opportunity for players to spread their wings and fly. Simmons will get reps and touches galore this season, and if he puts up the type of video-game numbers he amassed at LSU, he's a shoo-in for top rookie honors.

He's not the only Sixers player in the hunt. Joel Embiid currently sits seventh in the betting odds list at +1400, trailing Simmons, Buddy Hield (+550), Brandon Ingram (+650), Kris Dunn (+750), Denzel Valentine (+1200) and Jamal Murray (+1200). He's far from a sure bet given his injury problems and time away from basketball the last couple years, but perhaps a good value bet if adding some stakes to your Sixers devotion gets the juices flowing.
