NBA Draft 2016: Sixers Select Furkan Korkmaz No. 26 Overall

Furk yeah!

Just when you thought the Sixers would have a Furkan-sized hole that would never be filled, Anadolu Efes' Furkan Korkmaz was selected by the Sixers with the No. 26 overall pick. Are you Furkan kidding me? What a night!

Hot on the heels of the Timothe Luwawu selection, Bryan Colangelo went right back into the international pool to select Dario Saric's teammate. Korkmaz is young (only turns 19 on July 24th) and has to do a lot of refinement to make the jump to the NBA, but he's got an excellent package of shooting and athleticism that fits alongside new star Ben Simmons. The deadly spot-up shooter will have to transition out of a small role at his Turkish club, so it's likely the Sixers will bring him along slowly as his body develops (if they don't decide to stash him overseas).

The Sixers picked up a player who dominated junior competition in Europe, has a connection to the homie Dario and fills a Furkan hole. Hard to take any issue with that. More on him later!
