NBA Draft 2016: Sixers Select Timothe Luwawu with the 24th Pick

The Sixers threatened to do something here, but stayed put and made what looks to be a tremendous pick on the surface.

Despite many rumored efforts to move the picks with a stated goal of moving up in the draft, the 76ers settled in at 24 and selected Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, much to the delight of many Sixers fans and bloggers. The selection was wildly celebrated among the long-suffering fans including

The guard/forward out of France, via the Mega Leks agent-run team which had several draft prospects, was projected in the top 10 for much of the early and mid-season but slid as concerns about his shooting and IQ and a wack-job of a draft allowed the Sixers to swipe the suave Frenchman. Luwawu is a steal at the spot given his two-way potential, and indicated in his post-draft interview that his strength is his two-way play.

In just a few minutes, the Sixers are expected to pick again at number 26. Look out for a point guard, maybe.
