The Sixers appear to be after a point guard at all costs, and it just so happens Minnesota is trying to move one. While he may not be a good fit in Philadelphia, the Sixers have explored acquiring Ricky Rubio, according to the Star-Tribune's Jerry Zgoda.
Sixers probably aiming to get to 3 to get Dunn but also have been doing their due diligence on Rubio for months https://t.co/pehbXbyhCm

This follows some speculation from the critic of hoops earlier this morning, who claims the Wolves would let Rubio go fairly cheaply so long as a team was willing to take on Nikola Pekovic's contract. Pekovic would further complicate the Sixers logjam, but that's a side detail in this story.
There are two thought processes to consider here. Rubio is an excellent off-ball player whose passing next to Ben Simmons would be electric, and his defensive chops would be a welcome upgrade at the position after years of matador D. Unfortunately, his shooting is dreadful and renders him near useless in a lineup already starved for shooters.
More to come as the day progresses. The Sixers appear to be so desperate for a point guard they might inquire about Magic Johnson's availability at this rate.
