2016 Liberty Ballers Community Big Board No. 24: Landing The Hawk

A local product land at No. 23 on the community big board.

Anthony Gruppuso-USA TODAY Sports

After a string of very close voting, St. Joe's forward DeAndre' Bembry blew the competition out of the water to land spot No. 23 on the community big board. He finished with 37 percent of the vote, and Kentucky's Skal Labissiere came in a distant second with 22 percent.

I expected Bembry to win his first time up because we waited so long to make him an option, but clearly the community thought Poeltl's wait was long enough. The Liberty Ballers staff had Bembry ranked as the 17th best prospect in the draft class.

For a little man caught up in a world of bigs, I'm placing my vote behind Kentucky point guard Tyler Ulis. Concerns have emerged about his hip being able to hold up, but I love his game. He's one of the highest basketball IQ players in this draft, and I think he could have a solid career as a backup point guard. Ulis probably won't shoot well from beyond the arc, but he's got a solid pull up jumper, and he'll be aggressive on the other end of the floor. Worth a shot at this point in the board.
