We've had a couple of close calls while running through the community big board, but it doesn't get any closer than the voting for spot No. 20. Florida State shooting guard emerged victorious over Utah center Jakob Poeltl by just one measly vote.
Beasley feels like a quality fit with one of the Sixers late first round picks if he's still on the board. He's an exciting athlete who also shot very well from beyond the arc. The 19-year-old was ranked 24th overall by the Liberty Ballers staff, and Draft Express has Philadelphia landing him with their second selection of the evening.
A guy like Poeltl would be long gone on a normal big board, but a Sixers specific one definitely makes him less intriguing. I'm a tad surprised Demetrius Jackson is still on the board. He's not a true point guard, but he's a quality ball handler with improving court vision. One of his biggest issues seems to be creating separation from defenders, so it's quite possible he could be suited as a two guard you can run off screens. He did play extremely well next to Jerian Grant in that sort of role in 2014-15. He's got my vote for next guy off the board.
We'll add a personal favorite of mine, UNC's Brice Johnson, to the next round.
