In what may be the tightest race in community big board history (we'll have to check with our historians), Timothe Luwawu narrowly eked out a victory over Cal's Jaylen Brown. Both had 28 percent of the vote, but we don't do ties, and Luwawu had three more votes. Here's a screenshot of the voting at time of publication.
Luwawu obviously brings more to the table right now, although it's worth noting that he's got almost two years on Jaylen Brown, who turns 20 in October. There's definitely the chance his game takes the jump over the next year like Luwawu's did when he made the move to Serbia, but the Frenchman seems like a much safer bet to have a quality NBA career. If Brown ends up going off the board at nine in our next round of voting, it'll be one spot above where he ranked in the Liberty Ballers staff big board.
Washington's Marquese Chriss is hot on his heels, and it's hard not to be enticed by a long power forward with growing potential as a three-point shooter. Big board No. 9 should have the makings of a tight finish as well.
