Well, this is a day that just keeps getting better. After Sam Hinkie stepped down as General Manager for the Sixers this evening, Woj is now reporting that Bryan Colangelo has officially been hired to replace him.

Hinkie's resignation was sudden and shocking to many of us. This news is perhaps less so. Colangelo holds the unique distinction of being Chairman of Basketball Operations Jerry Colangelo's son, and there have been rumors since Jerry first joined the team that Bryan may be tapped to replace Hinkie.
Colangelo has previously served as the General Manager for the Phoenix Suns and the Toronto Raptors, winning Executive of the Year in 2005 and 2007.
There will be more takes coming over the next few days, but my initial one is: this sucks.
