The Sixers new president of basketball operations is beginning to shape his front office. According to Jorge Castillo of the Washington Post, Philadelphia has interviewed Washington Wizards vice president of scouting Marc Eversley for a position under Bryan Colangelo.
This news shouldn't come as much of a surprise. When Colangelo initially took his new job back in the beginning of April, The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Eversley would likely join him in the Sixers front office. Their relationship dates all the way back to Colangelo's time as president and general manager of the Toronto Raptors. He hired Eversley as the team's director of basketball operations in June 2006, and promoted him to assistant general manager for the 2010-11 season.
After Colangelo stepped down from his duties in the Raptors front office in 2013, Eversley bolted for the Wizards, where he has been ever since.
With Eversley likely to join the Sixers front office, it remains to be seen what will happen to the holdovers from Hinkie's tenure. Vice President of Basketball Operations Sachin Gupta and Vice President of Basketball Strategy Ben Falk both worked very closely with Sam Hinkie, and could be on their way out if Colangelo opts to hire people he is more familiar with.
