The year of Dario continues.
As his successful 2015-16 campaign wraps up in Turkey, the soon to be Sixer was named to Croatia's 26-man preliminary roster for the 2016 FIBA World Qualifying Tournament. Other notable names on the roster include draft eligible prospect Dragan Bender (Maccabi Tel Aviv), Duje Dukan (Sacramento Kings), Bojan Bogdanovic (Brooklyn Nets) and Damjan Rudez (Indiana Pacers).
The qualifiers will take place in Turin, Italy from July 4-10, and Croatia is set to take on Tunisia and Italy in the group stages. If they win the tournament, Croatia will move onto the 2016 Olympics in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, which begin on Aug. 6.
The 22-year-old Saric has been a mainstay on the Croatian national team over the past two years. In last year's Eurobasket competition, he averaged 9.7 points and 6.3 rebounds in six games before losing to the Czech Republic in the round of 16.
Expect to see Saric playing for his country at some point this summer, and perhaps in a Sixers summer league jersey come July.
