You've probably heard about Dario Saric's month of March. Well, he capped it off right this past week, with one particularly explosive performance against Unicaja, in which he went for 17 points and 11 boards on 5-of-7 from the field, 2-of-2 from deep and 5-of-5 from the charity stripe. Later in the week he came off the bench for Efes in a victory over Istanbul, pacing himself with nine points, three rebounds, and a triple in 16 minutes.
If there's anything we can take away from this season, it's that Dario Saric is good. I understand the disappointment that perhaps the team's brightest spot is cooking with the wrist somewhere in Istanbul, but he's really a player fans should start getting excited about. I'm not going to tell you TBL stats are repeatable at the highest level of basketball competition on the planet, but he's posting 50/40/90 numbers through 22 Euroleague games this season and 49/38/83 on the year. He's hitting the glass hard, pulling down more than nine rebounds per 36 minutes. His refined outside game now has just about a full year's consistent body of work on its side after up-and-down seasons in the past. There's a lot there.
With seven games somehow still left to play this season, it's time to start hitting the Anadolu Efes tape and getting excited about something. Help could be on the way sooner rather than later.
