Although Mike D'Antoni may be considered the most likely Philadelphia 76ers assistant to earn a head coaching job in the NBA, the team may be losing another member of their staff to the college ranks.
According to ESPN's Jeff Goodman, Lloyd Pierce is in the running for the recently vacated head coaching position at Santa Clara University.
Santa Clara: Also hearing that, along with Herb Sendek, that Sixers assistant Lloyd Pierce and former Santa Clara assistant is also in mix.

His ties to Santa Clara are strong. Pierce spent four years as a player at Santa Clara, sharing a backcourt with Steve Nash while leading the Broncos to NCAA Tournament berths in 1995 and 1996.
After spending four seasons as a pro, Pierce returned to his alma mater as an assistant from 2003-2007. He has been a member of the Sixers coaching staff since 2013.
