It took until after the 3 P.M. deadline for the Sixers to get involved in the action, but their moment finally came. Or perhaps more accurately, Sam Hinkie's moment, with the second-round hoarder swooping in to steal one at the last possible second.
This information comes courtesy of Marc Spears and Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo:
The Rockets sending center Joel Anthony to the Sixers, a source told Yahoo Sports.

Philadelphia will receive a future second-round pick to take on Anthony and his contract, sources tell @TheVertical.

To be clearer: Anthony goes to Sixers through Houston, who acquired him from Detroit in 3-player trade. Rockets ship out second-round pick.

Anthony was moved as part of Detroit's deal for Donatas Motiejunas earlier this afternoon. Can't imagine he'll be here long -- the frontcourt is already loaded as it is, and Anthony's contract is non-guaranteed after this season.
There's an unfortunate casualty in the transaction, according to our friend Derek Bodner:
#sixers get Denver's 2017 2nd rd pick along with Joel Anthony. Sending out rights to Chukwudiebere Maduabum. Will need to open roster spot.

Long live Chu Chu. May the Sixers one day acquire his brother, Chugga Chugga.
This takes some wind out the sails of the "Hinkie has no authority" movement, given his propensity for acquiring second-round picks in previous years. He lives! The second-round obsession will never die!
Not exactly a show-stopper, but it appears the front office worked the phones until the last possible moment.
