VIDEO: Joel Embiid & DeMarcus Cousins like smacking each other’s butts

That actually looked like it hurt a little bit.

The matchup of highly touted rookie Joel Embiid and DeMarcus Cousins was certainly going to be must see television during Monday’s Sixers-Kings game, but things got real weird real quickly.

The two spent the early moments of the game jockeying for position, and Cousins didn’t look to be too happy with how handsy Embiid was. After Cousins’ physical defense forced an Embiid travel, the pair forgot about the earlier animosity and got friendly with each other. Perhaps a little too friendly. What ensued was an incredible yet certainly painful game of Slap-Ass.

Let’s take a look at the tape, from multiple angles.

So adorable!

I will say, Cousins probably got the best of him based on the ferocity of the slaps, although Embiid did get the last laugh in this interaction.

In terms of meaningful on-court production, the rook is certainly giving the seven-year veteran everything he’s got. At halftime, Embiid currently has 13 points (5-9 FG), seven rebounds, and two blocks in 14 minutes. Cousins is matching him with 14 points of his own, to go along with five rebounds and three assists.

We’ll keep you updated on any future butt grabbings.
