Sixers-Kings game postponed due to wet court

Condensation from a warm, humid day resulted in an unplayable court surface

Updated: the game was officially postponed by the NBA, to be rescheduled for a future date. See original article below.

Tonight’s game between the 76ers and the Sacramento Kings is currently under delay and likely to be canceled due to condensation on the court. Several media members - including Kings writer Jason Jones and the Inquirer’s Keith Pompey - have indicated this will be the case once postponement plans are finalized.

The Wells Fargo Center - home to the 76ers and Philadelphia Flyers of the NHL - is a shared court, which results in some days where both teams play. With a muggy, 60+ degree day at an unusual time of the year, the arena warmed too much and caused the ice underneath the court to evaporate.

If postponed, the game will likely be delayed until at least January.
