The Philadelphia 76ers have assigned shooting guard Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot to the Delaware 87ers as they prepare for the season debut of point guard Jerryd Bayless. Luwawu-Cabarrot is expected to play in Monday night’s game against the Greensboro Swarm.

The 21-year-old Frenchman was sent to the Sevens last week during the team’s off day in order to get him an extra practice, but he never suited up for the team. (If you’re inclined to watch Luwawu-Cabarrot play on Monday, the game will be broadcast on TCN at 10 p.m.)
He’s played sparingly for the Sixers during the early portion of his rookie season, averaging just 5.1 minutes per game in nine appearances.
His assignment is likely correlated to the expected return of Bayless, who tore a ligament in his wrist during training camp. The 28-year-old was surprisingly listed as questionable for Monday’s game against the Miami Heat, and will likely be on a minutes restriction if he does indeed suit up.
