Breaking news: Joel Embiid just might be really, really good. After sitting out for two seasons, Embiid made his NBA debut against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night, and tore it down.
He finished with 20 points, seven rebounds, and two assists in just 22 minutes of action. Embiid fed off the sold out crowd, who rewarded him with chants of “MVP!” and “Trust The Process” when the 7-footer hit the free throw line.
According to Sixers.com’s Brian Seltzer, Embiid is the first player to ever score 20 points in 22 minutes or less in their NBA debut. Expect him to continue to set and break records not only this year, but for the rest of his career (provided he’s healthy).
It’s Embiid’s world, and everyone else is just living in it.
