Nothing goes hand-in-hand like the 76ers and injury news. ESPN’s Jeff Goodman reported today that point guard Jerryd Bayless will miss the first month of the regular season with an injury to his left wrist:

The Sixers had been mum on Bayless’ status and absence from the preseason for a few weeks before Brett Brown’s statement on Friday that Bayless would be reevaluated in “two weeks.”
Bayless’ injury looks to hamper the Sixers offense significantly. He may only be a slightly above replacement-level player this season, but it’s been such a drop-off in play with the team’s carousel of poor point guards over the last few seasons. Even average play would be a bright spot and Bayless seemed to fit well in an offense that would have Dario Saric operating as a point forward much like Ben Simmons would.
So with Bayless sidelined, expect more of Sergio Rodriguez and T.J. McConnell, as well as a flurry of trade rumors surrounding Sixers and other team’s point guards, like last week’s Tyus Jones talk, or possibly the Sixers even using their top waiver wire spot on another team’s cut player.
