Joel Embiid Leaves Wasserman, To Sign With Superagent Leon Rose

Embiid will now be represented by the same agent as Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant.

While Joel Embiid continues his rehab to finally get on the court next season, he's making some changes off the court. Chris Haynes of Cleveland.com reported that the third overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft has left Wasserman Media Group, who have represented him since he turned pro:

Keith Pompey followed up on the report, stating Embiid is likely to sign with prominent agent Leon Rose.

Among others, Rose currently represents Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant and now retired point guard Allen Iverson. Rose is also based out of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, located just outside of Philadelphia.

The 21-year-old Embiid won't be eligible for a contract extension until 2017, and is slated to become a restricted free agent in 2018.
