It is fitting that, on the 11th anniversary of Oceanic Flight 815 crashing -- an event that was subsequently viewed and replayed from multiple angles and perspectives in the years to come -- that the Sixers have once again shown interest in perennial former and future Sixer Anthony Bennett. With a buyout on the horizon from the Minnesota Timberwolves, the former first overall pick would hit waivers before becoming a free agent.
Amico reports it's the Sixers, Blazers, and Magic who are batting at the yarn ball of Bennett, Woj says it's the Cavs (who drafted him), Jazz, Blazers, and Sixers. Of those, it seems like the Blazers would be the only team I'd consider feasibly going after AB.
Bennett has not been good to start his NBA career, but if he can get himself in shape and......... ah, you've heard me do this before. I'm in love with the dude, and would adore the chance at seeing him (back) in a Sixers uniform to redeem himself against the entire league.
The Sixers -- like the extras from Oceanic Flight 815 -- have a bunch of bodies nobody cares about. I would see them taken by the Smoke Monster to make room for Bennett, who would assume his place alongside Kendall Marshall, Christian Wood, and J.P. Tokoto on my mantle of Sixers I Have Willed Onto The Team.
Crashland the plane, Sam. We have to go back.
