According to a report from Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports, Philadelphia 76ers' center Joel Embiid is set to undergo surgery on his broken right foot on Tuesday, August 18:
Joel Embiid, who will have Kevin Durant type foot surgery Tuesday, made classy move by attending Sixers asst. @LloydPierceLP wedding Friday.

It's been more than a month since the Sixers announced that Embiid would need a second procedure on his troublesome right foot, forcing the former Kansas star to miss the entire 2015-16 season. At the time, the team noted in a press release that the surgery was set to "take place in the next seven to 10 days."
Since the initial news broke, the Sixers have more or less maintained radio silence while speculation has run rampant in the media. Earlier this week, CSN Philly's John Gonzalez was able to learn that while Embiid was still trying to come to grips with the prospect of another lost season, there didn't appear to be any disconnect between him and the team.
Best wishes to Embiid on his recovery, and kudos to him to attending the wedding of an assistant coach on the eve of what could be a career-defining surgery.
