LB Community Big Board: Mudiay Beats Out Winslow for 5th

Emmanuel Mudiay hopped into the 5th spot on the Liberty Ballers Community Big Board for the 2015 NBA Draft. Will Justise Winslow or Kristaps Porzingis follow him at #6?

Mike DiNovo-USA TODAY Sports

SMU-recruit-turned-ex-pat Emmanuel Mudiay placed 5th in the Liberty Ballers Community Big Board, snatching up 55% of the votes yesterday. After beginning this past season in the running for the top pick in the 2015 NBA Draft along with Jahlil Okafor, Mudiay's stock dipped during his brief, injury-plagued pro season with the Guangdong Southern Tigers in the Chinese Basketball Association.

Given SMU head coach Larry Brown's insistence that he still bears some relevance to the Sixers franchise today and his belief that the Sixers should and will select the Congolese-born point guard, as well as the way his play has been picked apart during the time he's sat out, it's easy to see why Sixers fans have grown weary of Mudiay. If he knows what's good for his future, he'll start distancing himself from Brown while also #rebranding himself as "Manu Mudiay."

Looking at the previous poll's results, I'm assuming this selection will come down to Justise Winslow, the Duke national champion could bring loads of fun to the Sixers blogosphere with Family Matters and Kanye West jokes if he lands in Philly, or Kristaps Porzingis, a player who'd bring me a sense of schadenfreude as the city turns riotous after Sam Hinkie selects yet another big man who also happens to be from Latvia and rail thin.

As someone who wrote 1000 words on Cedi Osman over the weekend and has a Euroleague TV subscription, I'd be quite fine with the hot takes 'Taps would induce.

LB Big Board To Date

1. Karl-Anthony Towns - Kentucky Wildcats
2. D'Angelo Russell - Ohio State Buckeyes
3. Jahlil Okafor - Duke Blue Devils
4. Mario Hezonja - Barcelona (Spanish ACB)
5. Emmanuel Mudiay - Guangdong Southern Tigers (CBA)
6. ???
