The JaVale McGee Era Might Be Ending As Sides Discuss Buyout

Depending on your valuation of entertainment value, you're either extremely happy or extremely despondent upon hearing the news from Marc Stein:

With McGee due $12 million guaranteed next season, chances of buyout likely depend on JaVale finding new team that wants to bring him in now

As Stein noted, McGee is owed $12 million for next year, which would presumably be reduced upon a buyout. The 76ers don't need to save much money this season due to the salary floor number they're up against. I wrote about that situation here. Any savings will likely be used to create more flexibility in the future or come right up against the floor for this season.
