The moment you've all been waiting for (since Thursday) has arrived: newly acquired Isaiah Canaan will make his Sixers debut tonight. The former Houston Rockets sharpshooter wasn't able to make it to Philly in time for the team's Friday game, but he'll be starting when the Sixers tip off against the Magic in Orlando on Sunday evening.
Isaiah Canaan will get the start at point guard tonight.

This should be fun. I'm pretty high on Canaan. Or at least as high as you can be on a guy after watching a bunch of highlights videos on YouTube. The dude can clearly shoot: he's hitting 38.1% of his shots from beyond the arc this season. That's exactly what Robert Covington, Canaan's former teammate, is shooting by the way.
No offense to Tim Frazier, but the Sixers have lacked a real point guard since Michael Carter-Williams got hurt early in February. Canaan is actually an NBA point guard and a guy that Sam Hinkie was supposedly high on in the 2013 NBA Draft. I hardly think he was just a throw-in from the Rockets in the K.J. McDaniels deal. Fearless prediction that I make with no accountability if it doesn't turn out to be turn: Canaan drops 50 tonight.
Elsewhere in hyperbole, there's probably no chance the Sixers will be able to win for the first time since playing without Andrei Kirilenko.
As for the Magic, they're bad. Just like the Sixers. But not as bad as the Sixers. Orlando is on a two-game win streak after being the Knicks and Pelicans. It would actually benefit the Sixers to beat the Magic here in order to give the Lakers a better chance of falling out of the top five. But with LA having five less wins than Orlando anyway, it's probably a long-shot.
It should be a fun game with the debut of Canaan. Then there's always the former Sixers factor when playing the Magic. Nice to see you, Nikola Vucevic, (How could you be) Moe Harkless, Dewayne Dedmon, and Elfrid Peyton. Oh and Willie Green is apparently still in the NBA?
