It's all happening at once. After apparently dealing Michael Carter-Williams at the deadline buzzer, the 76ers have also shipped out rookie swingman K.J. McDaniels in a deal with the Houston Rockets. Point guard Isaiah Canaan and a second round pick are the haul on their way back.
Philadelphia has traded K.J. McDaniels to Houston for Isaiah Canaan and a second round pick, league source tells Yahoo Sports.

There has been a lingering fear for a large segment of the fanbase that Philadelphia would be unable to keep McDaniels after this summer, given the nature of his rookie contract. Content to take a one-year deal and bet on his talent, McDaniels was headed to restricted free agency early, and it appears that Hinkie was not willing to roll the dice on signing him for the right price.
Like the MCW deal, this one comes as quite a surprise. There was virtually no chatter about McDaniels entering the day -- but I guess that's par the course for Sam Hinkie's Sixers.
