Some pre-game notes worth mentioning:
- Michael Carter-Williams will not play due to illness. It's his 6th missed game of the season. Larry Drew II's contract expired today, but was re-signed to a second ten-day deal prior to today's game. He will start in place of Carter-Williams. Drew is currently averaging 4.7 points on 38.7% shooting and 4.3 assists in nearly 20 minutes of action a night.
- Jrue Holiday will be out 2-4 weeks with a stress reaction in his leg, the team announced last Wednesday. He's no LaMarcus Aldridge, so it goes without saying he'll miss Monday's game. Regardless of how you feel about the trade that sent him to New Orleans (and frankly you shouldn't think badly of that deal), it's clear Sam Hinkie made the right deal. While Holiday may be a nice player, he's really struggled to stay on the court since joining the Pellies. He played in just 34 games last year, and will miss some serious time once again. Not to mention, Philadelphia got a great return for him. Holiday was averaging 15.2 points per game prior to the injury.
- Ed Malloy is tonight's head referee. NO, ED MALLOY!
