Free agent guard Malcolm Lee has reached agreement on a deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.
— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) September 24, 2014
Malcolm Lee played limited minutes in two seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Across 35 career games, he's averaged just under 4 points per game.
Just like many other Sixers acquisitions, he fits the stereotype of a young athlete who has at once point faced injury problems and, if in life-threatening danger, could not hit a jump shot to save himself. But he's still 24, and has NBA experience at a position where the Sixers are frighteningly thin. Seriously, starting guard Alexey Shved might happen. His former teammate might give him a run for that spot.
Contract terms were not disclosed in the Woj tweet. At this point in the summer, it's safe to assume it's a non-guaranteed or partially guaranteed deal. When we know more, we'll give you an update.
