The Sixers have holes....everywhere, so it is a little surprising that the instances Philadelphia has been linked to free agents are few and far between. But there's a new name on the Sixers radar today, and the hot stove is cookin' in Philadelphia.
According to the always reliable Sportando (and reporter Orazio Cauchi), the team has shown interest in Australian small forward Joe Ingles.

The 26-year-old Ingles has bounced around the International club scene, getting his start in the land down under before spending four seasons in Spain. He played with Israeli powerhouse Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2013, averaging 6.4 points per game while shooting 53.3% from the field, and a career 41.7% from beyond the arc.
He is currently a member of the Australian national team playing in the FIBA World Cup, and has played real well through two games so far, averaging 14.5 points on a crazy 75% shooting. From what I could gather from Youtube, he seems to like to work with the ball in his hands and has pretty good floor vision.
The consistency of his perimeter shooting seems to be his downfall (like everyone else on this Sixers team), but if he continues to perform at the World Cup he may play himself into a cheap, multi-year contract with an NBA team. He seems like he's worth the look for Sam Hinkie, and could be good insurance as a solid ball handler and perimeter defender if Elliot Williams and Hollis Thompson play poorly.
And of course there's always the Aussie connection with Sixers coach Brett Brown, who spent many years with the national team there. Ingles is worth keeping an eye on.
