Keeping Up with the NBA Finals: Predictions + Game 2

Apparently, there are still some basketball games being played right now?

Soobum Im-USA TODAY Sports

Even before the last seconds ticked off the clock for the Sixers regular season, the crew here at LB and you the readers have been engaging in a ton of discussion involving the upcoming NBA draft. I'll admit I'm not as well versed in a lot of the ins-and-outs of the prospects as many people here. I mean, even though I heard of him previously, I had no idea who this Blark character was until recently.

To be honest, even with my comparatively less research on it all, I know I've gotten a little tired running in circles through discussions about which prospect is better or worse without them even putting on a pro-jersey. The next time I want to talk about ceilings and floors is when I either buy or redecorate a house. Thankfully, there is still some basketball related happenings going on.

I don't know if you've heard but the Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs are playing in the NBA Finals for the consecutive year. There's a plethora of story lines and narratives going into the series from this possibly being the Spurs last hurrah to LeBron and company securing a 3-peat.

So I should probably address the elephant in the room. Game 1 already happened. That's our bad. As mentioned, this off season has been filled to the brim with coverage of the Sixers and the upcoming draft. In our enthusiasm, we forgot that actual basketball is still being played at the moment. Thankfully, here are enough #HotTakes around the web about what occurred in Game so there's no need to rehash it. Furthermore A/C-Gate and Cramps overshadowed just how good that game was. In short, these are legitimately the best 2 teams in the league.

The LB writers all had their own predictions about the series prior to Game 1's results and we thought we'd share

That's 10 to 5 in favor of the Spurs from us. We'll see which one of us is right by the end of this series.

Tell us what your predictions are. Bragging rights are on the line. Also, this thread will also serve as a viewing companion and Game thread for Game 2 including a special Halftime Hangout!
