Adeian Payne has been selected at 15th on the LibertyBallers Community Big Board, earning 40% of the 467 votes cast.
This is about right for Payne, who is ranked 16th by Chad Ford and 18th by DraftExpress. With his combination of rebounding, athleticism, and improving outside shot, Payne is a pretty good bet to be a contributor at the NBA level, and at 15 that would be a good get if the Sixers are able to add another first round pick to their collection.
Moving on, we add Swiss big man (playing in France) Clint Capela. Ultra athletic and mobile, but in sore need of refining, polish, and learning, Capela is a pretty big boom-bust pick. But at this stage of the draft, with how much value rim-protecting big man have, Capela will draw interest.
Capela put up incredible per-minute stats this past year, at 17.1 points per 40 minutes and 12.6 rebounds, albeit against second tier competition. I recently wrote about Capela in the Pimp Your Prospect series, so I won't go into too much detail rehashing that, but the potential is there if you believe the work ethic is. But you'll have to wait a while, and be willing to risk the pick if it doesn't.
In the last poll, nobody had even half the votes Payne received. But Elfrid Payton (15%), Jusuf Nurkic (13%) and Kyle Anderson (11%) all had strong showings. This may be the point where polarizing Kyle Anderson, with many questioning his athleticism and translation, but many also pointing out his great analytical rating, goes.
Who would you rank 16th?
