The 10-Day Express: Sixers Sign Adonis Thomas, James Nunnally Walks

Incredible.

James Nunnally was a fan favorite, especially among the masses of ladies at the Wells Fargo Center, but when you get in the way of Sam Hinkie's insatiable appetite for 10-day contracts, no amount of All Star-level play will save you. So as Nunnally's contract expires after two 10-days, the Sixers have signed Adonis Thomas just under the gun for a 10-day contract, with exactly ten days left in the season.

First, Thomas. He is the 28th player the Sixers will have on their 15-man roster this season. Lucky 28 went to Memphis, graduating last year, where he struggled to develop an offensive game and largely disappointed after coming in as a solid prospect. A tremendous physical specimen -- 6'5 with a 7'1 wingspan and a max vert of 40.5" -- Adonis is not much of a basketball player yet, but maybe the Sixers can unlock all of his potential in just shy of a fortnight. Seems likely.

Orlando Pinstriped Post: Adonis Breaks Down His Game

He did play some NBA ball earlier this season with two 10-dayers for the Orlando Magic. So if you think about it, this is just compensation for Dewayne Dedmon, who the Magic signed after the Sixers let Dedmon walk(ing). That seems just.

Nunnally will always be remembered for being himself, and the inside information I had about him on the RTRS after they signed him. Fare thee well, James. You will always be my Gaucho.
