Congratulations, everyone, the 2013-2014 Philadelphia 76ers season is now OFFICIALLY over. We made it. Final record: 19-63.
To make matters even better, the Sixers ended the season on a high note by beating the Miami Heat, 100-87. Funny enough, the Sixers' win tonight means they won the season series with the Heat, 2-1. You're just lucky the Sixers didn't make the playoffs, Miami. (This is already the 1000th time this joke has been made.)
The game itself was... enjoyable! Both teams kept it close until the end of the third quarter where the Sixers took a commanding lead and held on for the rest of the way.
Thaddeus Young led the way for the Sixers with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Michael Carter-Williams pitched in with 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists.
Miami was led by Dwayne Wade, who scored 16. Regular Heat starters LeBron James, Chris Bosh, and Mario Chalmers all sat the bench in order to rest up for the NBA playoffs.
More thoughts and takes to come in the full recap. For now, enjoy tonight's result, and reflect on the season.
Pelicans Pick Update: The Pellies won tonight so they'll be picking 10th instead of 9th. Shucks.
