Memphis 103, Sixers 77: A Good Old Ass Kicking

The Sixers have now lost a franchise-record 20 straight games.

Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

There was no shoepocalypse or late-minute comeback effort. This was a good old ass-kicking. We know exactly what to expect from this Sixers team. There are no more surprises. 26 point losses spark the reaction, "meh," rather than, "damn." Before the game, I talked about the Grizzlies and Sixers' drastically different styles of play, but ultimately the difference in this game was the fact that Memphis simply knows how to play efficient defense and the Sixers do not.

Memphis held the Sixers to just 37.3 percent shooting from the field. The Grizzlies outscored the Sixers by 17 points in the second half. It was a playoff team versus a practical joke. A bull running into a china shop and destroying everything o the clearance rack.

The Sixers defense made a below-league average Memphis offense look beautiful at times.

All 13 active players for Memphis scored. Arnett Moultrie is in the D-League.

Brandon Davies had the only positive +/- of any Philly player tonight with a +1.

20-straight losses will become 36-straight.

That's all she Wroten. That's all I've got.
