The season is 55 games old for our Sixers and we've finally reached the day they've been building towards since November. It's the Trade Deadline, and after 3 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, the Sixers will have less players. Or more players! Or the same amount! Wow, the possibilities are endless!
I'm gonna try to predict a few things, because it's fun, and I encourage you to do the same in the comments. But before I do, some things to consider:
-- It always goes down right until the Deadline. Most of Hinkie's moves came within an hour or two of the final bell.
-- I really don't think there was much of a market for Evan and Thad and Spencer earlier in the season.

-- Teams are being wildly protective of picks and it's easy to see why. Not only is this a great draft class, but it's also a different league now. You draft a player, you have four years (plus bird rights) of cheap control over them. That compared to half a season of Evan Turner is just not much of a discussion. Realistically, that's what we're dealing with. But...
-- ...as the Deadline approaches, owners are putting pressure on their GMs to make something happen, and somebody's gonna do something they regret. It won't be the Sixers. Hopefully, it'll be the Sixers' dance partners.
OK, now that that's out of the way...
It's my last minute belief that Sam Hinkie will trade all three of Spencer Hawes, Evan Turner, and Thaddeus Young. Commence insanity.

Sixers come away with two 2014 1st rounders (likely in the early-to-mid-20's), two massive expiring contracts (Gordon, Okafor), and four damaged/castoff prospects that could be saved each with years left on their rookie contracts (McCollum, Goodwin, Leonard, Crabbe). They deal away four of their five starters, and six of their top eight leaders in scoring. Demolition.
The new roster would be:
PG: Michael Carter-Williams, Lorenzo Brown
SG: McCollum, Elliot Williams, Goodwin
SF: Hollis Thompson, Crabbe
PF: Arnett Moultrie, Brandon Davies
C: Meyers Leonard, Nerlens Noel
OUT: Jason Richardson, Ben Gordon, Emeka Okafor
And one roster spot left to re-sign Dewayne Dedmon!

OK so maybe it was a little too late when I conceived of this and I'm all hopped up on Hinkie Trade Juice, rendering all of that absurd. But that's my guess and for the sake of getting some sleep, I'm sticking to it. Can't wait to be proven wildly incorrect. Take a stab at it in the comments below and hold onto each other for dear life.
Let Hinkie work. Give him room.
