Sixers Assign Elliot Williams to Delaware 87ers

Williams had been part of the team's rotation during the team's wildly surprising 4-2 road trip.

Per the Sixers official Twitter account:

Williams has struggled offensively for the Sixers, averaging just under 3 points on just 31% shooting in around 11 minutes per game since joining the team in late November.

The Sevens play tonight in Reno, Nevada. Since the team was out West for a 5-game swing already, and because Williams was struggling with his shot the team may have decided to get him some PT where he'll get a lot more attempts.

The Sixers play at home on Monday against the Timberwolves, and on Tuesday in Cleveland. Whether Elliot will be back with the Sixers for either of those games is unknown at this time.

Williams' contract becomes guaranteed for this season on Tuesday, along with those of James Anderson, Hollis Thompson, Brandon Davies, Daniel Orton, and fellow current Seven Lorenzo Brown. We'll analyze the contract situations in detail tomorrow.
