Sixers vs. Pistons, Jrue/Bledsoe Hurt, Eric Gordon Shopped

Gametime: 7PM.

Al Bello

So the Sixers play the Pistons, but because it's a Friday night and it's the Sixers vs. the Pistons, we won't spend too much time on it. I'm excited to see Detroit, the worst three-point shooting team in the league at 31.3%, go bombs away from deep. Always good to see Andre Drummond do things. Imagine Spencer Hawes will be smushed inside on more than one occasion. Detroit's lost six straight games and are just 1.5 games ahead of Philly in the standings. Mo Cheeks -- who at one time ended practice early -- not having a great time in Wayne County.

Hopefully we get Tony Wroten tonight since he's now back at practice. Stick around for the thread tonight before you start boozing and sign up for Switchfoot at your neighborhood karaoke bar.

Bigger bummer is news that both Jrue Holiday and Eric Bledsoe are hurt. Bled will require surgery that keeps him out the rest of the season, an exceptional crapfest with him heading into free agency and maybe deserving of a max contract. Jrue's gonna miss about a month with a stress fracture.

Now, that's bad. Jrue is our friend and we love him. I wish OBAMA would stop stealing our point guards. But on the other hand, this means New Orleans' stock will once again take a hit, improving their draft pick with Ryan Anderson already out. I don't think it's immoral or wrong to be upset (as I am) that Jrue's injured while saying "OK cool, better draft pick." Pelicans are in trouble.

And now, they're trying to move Eric Gordon. Tough contract to trade, that one. I feel bad for the Pels and for Jrue and for knees and ankles everywhere.

Show must go on. Pistons/Sixers in a good night for the tank -- Cleveland/Utah, Orlando/Sacramento, Chicago/Milwaukee all on the docket this evening.

How's your day going?
