According to multiple media outlets (including Philly.com's Keith Pompey and ESPN's Jeff Goodman), Villanova assistant coach Billy Lange has agreed to a deal to join the Philadelphia 76ers staff.
Liberty Ballers was on top of the story regarding Lange's move to the NBA earlier this week, citing a source who stated "all signs were pointing to" Lange joining Philadelphia.
From Monday's story:
Sources close to Liberty Ballers tell us that "all signs are pointing to" Villanova assistant coach Billy Lange joining the Sixers in a somewhat similar role. His official title would be assistant coach, but would also have other responsibilities, the source said.
The New Jersey native has been a hot commodity this week, as the Houston Rockets offered Lange the opportunity to coach their D-League affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. According to Dana O'Neil of ESPN.com, Lange turned down the offer Monday.
Sources have told Jeff Goodman that the 41 year-old will be the Sixers "assistant to player development", something new GM Sam Hinkie and company have desperately tried to address this offseason.
