On Saturday, July 6th, at 2 PM at the Great Plaza at Penn's Landing in Philadelphia, The Sprite Slam Dunk Showdown will be showcased in our fine city. There will be eight dunk contests across the country this summer, with each winner competing in New Orleans during the 2014 NBA All-Star Weekend for the Slam Dunk Showdown Championship.

Former 76er, Darryl Dawkins and I will be guest judges for the Sprite Slam Dunk Showdown.

Two fine judges indeed. The committee did a great job. In fact, one could argue, and I will argue, that there are no two people in the greater Philadelphia area more versed in the art of dunking than Chocolate Thunder and I. For starters, I've watched the NBA Superstars video on VHS more than any other video not named Little Giants, and I'm fully aware of what Tom Chambers is capable of in Lakers vs. Celtics.

I can do some things that gamers can only dream of in NBA Live '95. I've boomshakalaka'd with Shawn Kemp. I've dunked with Bill Clinton. I've thrown it down with George Clinton.

I don't want to see Kias, or blindfolds, or capes, or paintings, or Spud Webb. No tricks. No gimmicks. No props. I want the meat and potatoes, not the pomp and circumstance. I don't hand out 10s to just anybody. You gotta earn it. Treat me right. Work the crowd.

Rock the Baby.
