It's been repeated that the 2013 NBA Draft is not all that great. Outside of the Top 7 guys who have, what I would say, a reasonable chance to be very good NBA players, the crop is filled with Kenny Thomases and Greg Buckners. It's why the Sixers, at 11, are in an unenviable spot.
I had a premonition of Trey Burke (AKA Tres Burkes) falling past the Kings at 7 and landing with the Sixers at 11, but it's very, very unlikely. Now that Burke has locked in the 6th frame on the LB Big Board, we're approaching some vagaries. Alex Len has been championed by a few here, but Shabazz Muhammad lurks sullenly and oldly behind him. CJ McCollum is waving at you as well ("How high?" "LEHIGH." - my friends who went to Lehigh and maybe CJ McCollum), while Cody Zeller and Rudy Gobert wonder what they're doing here.
We'll be talking about this more in the coming weeks, but the SB Nation NBA blog lords are having a mock draft where we have been given permission to trade picks and players, a la a real GM. Obviously I'm taking it way too seriously. I've made one trade already and I've spoken to probably 20 other GMs about moving around in the draft. I'm channeling Hinkie as best I can, friends, and I hope I make you all proud when the mock gets announced in a few weeks.
A brief comment on the Game of Thrones episode from last night: sdjfnlsdkjfglbsdkfjgnsdfkgjmsdfkjgnsdfkjgs.
Post baby animal pictures and emoticons lamenting the episode but if you spoil ANYTHING AT ALL, I'll see to it that you get a wedding present from me. No specifics, please. Be considerate or die a slow, painful death.
Happy Big Boarding!
