2013 NBA Draft: Sixers Take Arsalan Kazemi With 54th Pick

So many trades, so little time. With the 54th pick, the Sixers selected Oregon forward Arsalan Kazemi.

Josh Holmberg-US PRESSWIRE

With the 54th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, the Philadelphia 76ers selected Arsalan Kazemi from the University of Oregon (hey KJ Brophy). The 46th ranked player according to DraftExpress, Kazemi becomes the first Iranian player to be drafted.

Here's a Grantland post describing Kazemi as a rebounding machine, which I can dig.

No player is safe on the Sixers according to tonight's events. I fully expect this pick to be traded to Charlotte, then whatever they get back from Charlotte to be traded to Oklahoma City, then Hinkie will flip that to the San Jose Sharks. It's possible.

Sam Hinkie doesn't want any of us to sleep and I love every minute of it. If you've been able to follow tonight's happenings, then you are some kind of genius, possibly of the baby variety. At least we got some awkward tension (hey, that's our thing) with Doc Rivers and Bill Simmons late in the second round.

What do you guys think of the 54th pick? Will he be on the team for more than 22 minutes? Will HInkie make me post about 42 more articles tonight? I'm so lost right now it's not even funny.

Here's a great read by Brett Koremos on Kazemi. Hope he sticks.
