It's pretty hard to win in the NBA when you turn the ball over 26 times. It's even harder to do so when you have 22 assists to go with those miscues.
So, despite an exceptional first quarter in which the Philadelphia 76ers shot 77 percent, they still found a way to stumble to a 106-99 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center on Wednesday.
Kevin Love led everyone with 26 points and 15 rebounds (in other words, a typical day at the office for him), Ricky Rubio had 21/5/7, and Nikola Pekovic chipped in 21 for a Minnesota team that racked up 27 second-chance points.
When the 76ers weren't turning the ball over, good things happened - they shot 52.7 percent as a team against the Timberwolves. But over the last 36 minutes of action, they were outscored by 26 points, and were outrebounded 38 to 22.
The Sixers will have a day to recover from this one before they head north to take on the Toronto Raptors on Friday.
