The Philadelphia 76ers picked up their second consecutive loss, losing 116-102 to a Washington Wizards team picking up their first win of the season. John Wall and Evan Turner led all scorers with 24 points.
Below are some initial thoughts on the game
- The Sixers seem to make a habit of digging themselves large deficits early. Each game they have played this season the Sixers have trailed by a large margin, and tonight was no different, going down double-digits in the first quarter to the Wizards.
- Michael Carter-Williams had himself a rough game. He was an inefficient 8-21 from the floor for only 19 points.
- Daniel Orton left the game at the end after the first half with knee soreness and would not return. Is it possible that in the very near future it is Kwame Time?
- The Sixers transition defense was sorely lacking tonight, and no better moment illustrated this than Evan Turner giving up a foul on an Al Harrington breakaway to give Harrington the and-1. It's silly, pointless, and should really stop.
- Why does Spencer Hawes make so many threes?
- The Washington Wizards made 18 threes. Eighteen!!!! That's a lot.
- Any enjoyment derived from this team stems from people other than Lavoy Allen. His purpose on this team remains one of life's great mysteries.
