Rockets vs. Rockets East: Sixers Welcome Sam Hinkie's Past

After falling hard to Brett Brown's former employers, the Sixers have the pleasure of facing Hinkie's old boss.

I love the Rockets. If you've even glanced at the site with semi-regularity, you know this. The Sixers hiring of Sam Hinkie from Houston's assistant GM spot was met with a disbelieving "they got the Rockets guy" from me in a contact-high wave of euphoria. I love Daryl Morey. I love the Rockets.

Our Sixers will have no answer for the Hinkie-found talents of James Harden, Chandler Parsons, and Omer Asik -- not to mention the massive enigma, Dwight Howard. Brandon talked to The Dream Shake about what the Sixers need to do to beat Houston.

I don't think the Sixers can really do much to win this one other than what they've done all year: get out and push the ball down the floor. Trying to get shots in the paint is ideal, but will be difficult with a big presence like Dwight Howard there. On defense... hope the Rockets miss?

The best part about Houston (ASIDE FROM EVERYTHING - GUSH) is how they've gotten great production out of assets undervalued elsewhere. Jeremy Lin, who they paid handsomely, has been exceptional this season. Chandler Parsons is CHANDLER PARSONS. They're looking to move Omer Asik, but that's another guy they promoted from backup to starter, where it's paid off. Patrick Beverley and Greg Smith were both excavated from the scrap heap.

I love the Rockets.

Houston does turn the ball over quite a bit, so expect Michael Carter-Williams to have both hands in the passing lane cookie jars. Both teams will be running, so I'd expect the final to be in the 120s. That's a beautiful thing.

Only wish we could see video of the pregame Hinkie/Morey conversation.
