The Sixers of Philadelphia welcome the defending Western Conference champion San Antonio Spurs tonight. This will be the first time in Brett Brown's coaching career that he will face his former team and mentor, Gregg Popovich.
Brown's club entered the matchup a 7-point underdog, but that was before Popovich announced the Tim Duncan will be sitting out the contest, which is the second of a back-to-back and the Spurs' fifth game in seven nights.
The new head man is 4-3 in his first seven games in Philly and Brown was constantly quoted by comparing Evan Turner, Thaddeus Young and Spencer Hawes to Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Tim Duncan in the preseason.
