Are you sick of Philadelphia losing? Do you like Twitter? Does your boss not care if you toil away your billable hours in front of the computer?
If you answered yes to any of the above, oh boy, do we have a story for you.
Lavoy Allen, the notoriously quiet Sixers big man off the bench who tweets under the alias @Mr_5Hundred, is in the running for HoopsHype's Tweeter of the Year, and he's pitted against Kevin Durant, Manu Ginobili, Metta World Peace and Steve Nash, to name a few.
You're probably asking yourself, "Well, how does one qualify for such a prestigious award?".
To be honest, I couldn't tell you much other than the procedure is obviously very scientific and includes a myriad of categories, some of which I've determined below:
- Showing initiative at opportune moments (otherwise known as that one time Allen tweeted fervent Republican Stacey Dash to console her after it was announced that Barack Obama won re-election)
- Revealing deep, dark secrets
If your New Year's resolution is to get behind a cause and do something with your life, then stop upvoting stupid cat pictures on Reddit.
Instead, use those clicks to vote Lavoy Allen as the NBA's Tweeter of the Year. He currently sits in 12th place, some 3,834 votes behind Jamal Crawford in the top spot. Not too shabby, considering he has about 150,000 fewer followers.
So, do your civic duty and vote for Chef VOYardee here.
