Andrew Bynum to throw out first pitch at Phillies game

Jerome Miron-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Andrew Bynum, the 76ers big offseason acquisition, is set to throw out the first pitch at Sunday's 1:35 Phillies game against the Atlanta Braves, reports the700level.

The Phillies are 4 games out of the final wildcard spot with 13 games to play, trailing the Brewers (2.5 games out), Dodgers (2), and Cardinal.

If the Phillies were able to make the improbable comeback to take the final wild card spot, the series against the Braves would likely be a preview of the 1 game National League w card playoff.

It will also be the final game in Philadelphia for Chipper Jones, if you're of that persuasion.

The real question, though, is whether or not Andrew Bynum tries to pitch from second base without his coaches blessing. The 76ers front office has neither confirmed nor denied whether there would be any repercussions for Bynum making an attempt from long distance.

My money is on in the dirt and outside.
