Draft Express published a new mock draft on Saturday, and things look very different from their previous mocks. Here's who they have the Sixers selecting with their three picks:
15. Austin Rivers, Guard, Duke
45. JaMychal Green, Power Forward, Alabama
54. William Buford, Shooting Guard, Ohio State
I'm not the biggest Austin Rivers fan. He lacks a true position and I don't think his specific skillset translates to the NBA all that well. If Louis Williams departs via free agency, as expected, Rivers could step into the role of scoring sixth man, but he would be a downgrade from The Boss.
What's interesting is, DX has the Sixers passing on Perry Jones. Here's how my mock draft would go, if I were selecting for the Sixers – based on DX's projections.
15. Perry Jones III, Forward, Baylor
45. Darius Johnson-Odom, Guard, Marquette
54. Kim English, Guard, Missouri
Jones is too talented to pass up for the Sixers, at 15. I'd also consider Tyler Zeller. As for Johnson-Odom and English, both are players have already worked out. I wrote about them last week; read about it here.
