2012 NBA Mock Draft: Sixers Select Perry Jones III (FINALLY!)

Chad Ford (ESPN) and Jon Givony (Draft Express) have recently been projecting Perry Jones III, from Baylor, to fall beyond the Sixers pick at 15. Drafting the uber-talented forward certainly comes with plenty of risk – but at 15 (where the Sixers are slated to pick), he may be too talented to pass up.

Givoy recently published a mock for Yahoo!, with explanations for each first round pick. Finally (FINALLY!), he has the Sixers taking Perry Jones at 15. Here's what he had to say:

The Sixers are in a position to pick the best player that drops to them at 15, and Perry Jones is one of the most talented prospects in this draft. He can play alongside any of the frontcourt players the 76ers have at the moment, and would benefit greatly from the tough love of head coach Doug Collins.

DX also has the Sixers taking Kostas Papanikolaou and Kris Joseph with their second round picks. My ideal mock – based on these projections, would be: Perry Jones III, Darius Johnson-Odom and Tu Holloway.
