Potential first round draft pick, Tony Mitchell of North Texas, has decided to return to school for his sophomore season.

Just last week I wrote about Mitchell being a potential target for the Sixers at the end of the first round.

I love Tony Mitchell as a fit for the Sixers. He's athletic, a very good rebounder, shot blocker and gets most of his points off cuts to the basket. These are all qualities we've wanted in our big man since Dalembert was traded. The problem: he's had academic problems and he's a bit undersized. Academic problems are a huge red flag, in my opinion. All that talent in the world matters not if you're Marreese Speights.

It's probably a good idea for Mitchell to return to school. He could elevate himself to top 10 pick status next year. It sucks for us, though.

Despite how much touting we did for Mitchell, the Sixers probably would've taken the most un-athletic center available anyway, so maybe we dodged a bullet.
